Sri Rudhram & the Ebola virus

Some days back, the following video of some two white Americans chanting Sri Rudhram in White House went 'viral' in youtube. So, I thought of writing what's 'Viral' about 'Sri Rudhram' :)

With some 'Brown Saahibs' & 'Brown Mem-saahibs'  - feeling proud of that a 'White'man is saying Sri Rudhram.

It seems to stem from their confused persona of trying to hide their 'Indianness' at one end as well as trying to appreciate what ever the White man says as being great.

Coming to the topic, Sri Rudhram is not some joke - its a Vedic concept of something far superior than just rendering with 'spashta' vakya or intonation.

Sri Rudhram should be contemplated with great insight as its a medical book on its own right. This comes only through family lineage, with generation after generation of constant contemplation, that gets imprinted in genes and flows to subsequent future generation.

In Vedic concept, Rudhra is supposed to be the god of punishment and he is identified as the disease of mind and body.
That's the reason, Rudhra is responsible for death - which is another disease for the body.
In Ayurveda, Rudhra entering the body is called 'Rudhra Pravesam'. He is identified in the smallest of Virus forms.

Consider for example, this one line,
'Asau Yastamro Aruna Babru Sumangalaha'

The meaning of this statement states, the Rudhra is manifested in copper, red, brown and yellow colour - sounds similar, its like the different colours of the viruses.

Another example,

'Namah Kaparthinecha Vyuptha Keshayacha'

The meaning of this statement states, the Rudhra manifests with hair and without hair.

Given below is the microscopic images of Ebola virus, SARS virus and Smallpox viruses - look at the amazing hair like formations which they use to link to blood cells.

The Veda points at a point that these viruses live in the trees and they are like the hairs of Lord Hari.

'Namo Vrukshebyo Hari Keshebyo'

- For understanding what is Hari's Kesha ( hair ), we must refer to Purusha Suktha which gives the cosmic form of Sri Hari Vishnu as Virata Purusha manifesting as the earth with all its living & non-living things.

We see that some places are referred to by the same name, like 'Rishi Kesh'.
We also see that Sri Vishnu, the Vedic & Tamil God ( of Mullai land ), manifests as trees at Naimicharanya and as tree filled mountains in Thirupathi & Vanamamalai. These are classified as 'Swayam Vyaktha Kshetras' not without reason. These places hold the potential of connecting to Sri Hari through his very body ( 'மலையே திருவுடம்பு'-'Malaye Thiruvudambu'  - as  Azhwars state in their paasuram ).

For a long time, the trees kept these viruses hidden from human contact.

With growing Human needs and our greediness, deforestation is causing these viruses to spread when the trees are cut and forests are cleared.
So, this is a clear warning by the Veda,

The Vrukshas are like the upper cloth thats supporting & helping the Saviour God, Sri Vishnu as it states,

'Namo Harikeshayopavitine Pushtanam Pataye Namo'

So, if man kind doesn't get its greed under control and continues its deforestation, the doom is inevitable, as is with this case of Ebola outbreak.

Racism apart, I personally feel that Vedas with their particular meters should not be uttered by foreigners.

I feel really sad that some Hindus seem to think if a white man wears a sacred thread and gives an upanyasam, they seem to cheer it.
This is because of the inferiority complex that we Indians seem to posses.

These 'neo-hindus' seem to look down on traditional brahmins who have taken the brick bat from the colonial rule for ages and yet preserved the tradition

But without giving due respect and recognition for them, it seems unfair that such recognition and respect is given to foreigners who wear boots and suit and chant something calling it Vedas.

What good does he, the foreigner, alone have to become priest wearing sacred thread?

These foreigners have only seen Hinduism as some 'trend' that they seem to follow today - no one knows if it will even last till next 10 years in their 'trend' and 'in thing' - or will it fade away as another 'Hippy' movement or 'Summer of love'.

Sarvam Sri Krishnarpanam.

Search for Saraswathi

Sri Saraswathi Devi is supposed to be the power of knowledge.

Every year, on Mahanavami on Navaratri, the south Indians Celebrate it as 'Ayudha Puja'.

The Saraswathi devi is regarded as patron diety for all arts - irrespective of any field. Be it a driver's knowledge of driving a car, a computer scientist's knowledge of computers or a cobbler's knowledge of stitching the shoes. This knowledge and tools used for implementing this knowledge came to be called 'Ayudha' or weapons in today's world.

But who is this Saraswathi Devi - what are the sources of this diety?

Lets put down what we know of Saraswathi Devi.

1) Saraswathi is the name of the river which got dried up in West India long before - This river is said to have floured with civilization in its banks.

2) The Saraswathi river is said to flow underground. It flows and merges at the top only at Allahabad Triveni sangam on Kumbha Mela for a specific time.

3) Saraswathi is the diety of all knowledge.

4) Often the diety is portrayed as a female goddess with Veena ( as string instrument ) in her hand and sitting on a white lotus flower.

5) She is said to be white in colour, wearing a white saree, with a white peacock by her side and holding a japa mala and palm leaf or note books in her hand.

6) She is often said to be enshrined in Kashmir ( Kashmira pura vaasini ) - the valley of Kashmir that's just beneath the Himalayas and the Gangetic plains.

7) All the poets of India have prayed to her for having knowledge of all shastras and becoming a genius in their fields. ( Ex. Kambar, Ottakoththar, Kalidasa, etc.,)

8) Her presence is overlapping in many Theistic & Atheistic traditions of Hinduism. For example, we see her 'Avatars' as 'Tara' and other forms in Buddhism and as Saraswathi in Jainism.

I am jotting down some of the information I got of Saraswathi during my search for who this deity is.

1) The Yoga tradition has the chakra system with 3 primary naadis - the Ida, Pingala and Sushumna. They intersect at the eyebrow point and finally at the top crown of the head. This is shown below:

2) The Yoga traditions hold that India is the Yogic form of spirit of Earth. Buddha also visualized the same in his '5 dreams' on the day of his enlightenment.

3) The rivers are like the naadis or subtle veins of Earth and for India, the primary 3 naadis of Ida Pingala and Sushmna are formed by the 3 rivers of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswathi.

4) Since Sushumna is subtle and underground - so, is Saraswathi - the river flows subterranian and comes out to join only at the nodal point or chakra.

5) Interestingly, the ida and pingala are black and yellow in colour - so are the two rivers, Yamuna and Ganga. The sushumna is said to be 'pure white' - and so is Saraswathi - the pure white river. This I believe is the reason for her being projected as White - the symbol of knowledge or Sushumna.

6) There is yet another symbolism for Saraswathi - her temple as projected as being in Kashmir can again be attributed to be that she lives in the crown of the head - the place for 'concious brain'.

7) There is one last symbolism that I was amazed. The Vedas say that one who knows to play the Sama Veda in Veena correctly - masters all the Vedas and gets true knowledge of the universe.
The Veena's strings are said to correlate to the human body's nerves system and the proper application of each of the Raagas or the various frequencies are said to produce different effects on the flow of hormones inside the body.
In Naadi Shastra - there is a direct nadi between the end of the tongue and the heart called Saraswathi Naadi.
My belief is that the proper incantation and prayer to the deity Saraswathi opens up this Saraswathi Naadi and cleanses the heart and brings out the true potential - That could be the reason for the genius of great people discussed above.

Thanks for reading through this.
I am open to positive comments - kindly avoid negative comments.

Thanks and regards,

Concerned Indian.

Rare articles on the breeds of cows of Tamil country

Be a Gho Sevaka - say no to Vegan - say yes to Gho Seva.

Indians have been using cow’s milk from time immemorial. Its supposed to be an elixer when taken after the calf has been sufficiently fed.
Ayurveda asks to use the milk from native cows for curative purpose.

Cows eat carbon, take nitrogen and oxygen from air, give back calcium in milk, nitrates in dung, minerals in urine. These are essential for keeping oneself healthy – they are the best natural alternative to being dependent on tablets from western medicine. There is not a machine in world that has done this ‘period table transition of elements’ so quickly in the world that man has developed.
Veganism involves not using animals for even agriculture too. This is not so in case of scriptures. Bullocks are used for tilling in agriculture, for running the oil mills ( oil press machines – not the crude oil :) ), as transport, for milk for daily yogut, butter milk, milk, ghee and butter production, for their dung and urine for production of panchagavya and many other ingredients.
Veganism is a western philosophy which depends heavily on running on harmful carbon based fuels for achieving transport, tilling soil, running oil mills and depending on medicinal supplements from chemical based corporate medicines. This damages the environment with carbon foot print and also damages the fragile relationship that’s been developed between the domesticated animals for several thousands of years. What ever the western world has given in philosophy and methodology is totally alien and absurd to the world. Think of it, they said Paracetamol is a cure for headache and sold the medicine – then suddenly after 50 years, it was found to develop heart ailments and cancer and it was withdrawn – same is the case with vicks, pizza, burger, soft drinks, chocolates, remember the famous toothpaste advertisement some 30 years back – they said the tooth powder we Indians use had salt and that damages the tooth and they got the finely grained branded tooth paste – now after 30 years – you see the same company markets its toothpaste with salt in it – it advertises it openly that it has salt in it for better action on teeth – same is the case with shampoos and hairdyes – while the former advertisement from same company states the action is till the root – the later is only to the upper layer it says – how cheap they are cheating us??? – They still fool us with adverts showing a guy with a white coat and stetescope and what ever he ‘approves’ is approved by Indian Dental Association – where the guy is an actor and not a real doctor and worse there is no ‘Indian Dental Association’ too.. Same is the case with Veganism – its just the craze of the time.. like with any of these tamil songs nowadays from Aniruddh – good for humming – but dissappears as quickly as it came.
FYI – Sri Krishna himself grew up in the house of people who milked cows, used cow’s milk for producing milk, yogut, buttermilk, butter and ghee. ‘
Blue cross is doing a great service no wonder, but Sanatana Dharma had been doing the same thing that you are doing for thousands of years before without a centrally controlled ‘cross’ organization. Rather it depends on individual’s love and respect for the fellow creatures and getting help from them without harming them. That’s the reason, in India, except Cheatah, there was no extinction of species till today.
Thanks and regards,
P. Vijay

How to start a gho shala - dos and donts.

In Srimadh Bhagavatham, kali is supposed to be destroying Gho matha who is the very embodiment of mother earth and dharma. That is what we see here.
India’s freedom struggle was invariable tied with protection of Gho matha. I think time has come for a second Freedom struggle – one again for Gho Samrakshana – I think these kinds of petitions will give a good support. My few cents on this issue.
1) The slaughter houses run their business by paying something like say Rs.8500 – Rs.10,000 per native cow to poor farmers.
2) If there could be established even one gho shala and positive petitions for saving cows are spread and more voluteers gathered, we could pay those poor farmers something like Rs.12,000 – Rs.14,000 and get a cow – there by they would be inclined to sell to Gho shalas for more money than slaughter houses.
3) Once this process is in place, the slaughter house business will be dull and verily they will think of closing down their business and moving away to other activities.

“Solluvadhu yellarkkum elidhaam arithaam solliya vannam seyal” – it is easier said than done. The slaughter house business is run by mafia and there have been news that with the hand twisting from some political person – these businesses threaten and drive away or steal the cows from gho shalaas over night.
Even in recent Olakkudi cows case, there was a local politican who took money from the slaughter house people and tried his most to send the cows to slaughter house. But Mahaswamy’s karunai protected the cows at the right time with right people like Shri Bala and Shri Karthikeyan.
Even shrimathi Sadhana Rao, a very sincere Mahaperiyavaa devotee, who runs a similar Ghoshala in Neelangarai to save cows is facing several threats from theives who threaten her with her life for taking away the cows that she saves at the Chennai Andhra border. She is so afraid to that she wants to transfer the cows to other gho shalas in the cover of night, lest the mafias should create any problem.
Hence, praying Mahaswamy, there should be sustained efforts in this direction, and we must also enlist the support from other Hindu fronts like Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Hindu Munnani, ISKCON people, Vivekanda Kendra people, RK Mission people, and Gosevakas to garner more support to face these mafias. Lets pray that the govt. also takes care in helping these gho shalas and providing protection from these mafias.
Lastly, I feel that we ourselves are culprits in these kinds of evils developing in the society. Today’s real estate boom has made the pasture land totally not available for the cattle. Man’s greed knows no bound today, NRIs and even locals are now bent on getting 3+ houses for themselves not even thinking of the ecological disaster this will create. Mandavelis or Pasture lands, agricultural lands are now getting turned to real estate plots. NRIs should first lead this change as they only started this problem, the locals will follow them, what I feel that they need to do on a war footing:
1) They should buy more land and provide them as pasture land for gho shalas.
2) This land should have a small hillock and have sufficient vegetation for the cows to graze.
3) close to 30 acres is good for having a gho shala with 200 – 250 cows.
4) get some devoted gho sevakas to help in getting native breed cows – whose maintenance is low.
5) The hillock will provide enough vegetation as well as help in rejuvinating the ground water.
6) large tracts of land could still be got at reasonable price at remote places in Tamilnadu for this purpose.
7) This will generate employment too for the locals there, hence they will also be more willing to help.
8) with NRIs driving the change, the locals will also follow on this revenue model from gho shalas.

These kinds of farms require some 4 – 5 cow heard people who could be unskilled labours.
The investment is also lesser and the cows will multiply quite fast and new cows will be born after some 2 years itself.
ROI will be great with all the products from native cows ( which I have mentioned in an earlier comment in the olakkudi cow’s current status).
Provide employment to those who are displaced from the slaughter house business.

This way, they can even mitigate their papa for leaving India or not praying their ancestors rightly – for Dharma shastras say, providing pasture land, giving grass to cows, providing water to cows, even planting a stone for the cows to scratch their backs will rid the sin or crossing sea or not performing shraddha to their ancestors. ( remember this is just a remedy for things done unknowingly and as a repentance. Its not a ready made excuse for not doing shraddha with full knowledge ).
In this way, both we are saving Gho matha as well as bringing a change of heart and helping the guys working in slaughter house to turn to gho samrakshana and getting rid of their papam also. The slaughter house employee will also not complain of loss of job.
Seeking the grace of Mahaswamy in making the Gho Samrakshana a great sucees.
Thanks and regards,
Vijay Parthasarathy

Saving the sacred cows of tamilnadu

Erode is the Kurukshetra for this battle to save our Gho matha. It is through this place that each day several hundreds of native indian cows are being smuggled or bought into Kerala where cow slaughtering is there.
In their place, the tamil people are bringing in cross bred cows thinking they will yeild more milk.
There are several problems as below:
1) Native Indian cows are practically maintenance free – where as the cross bred are high maintenance – hence profit for the farmers is practically nil or worse they face loss in raising cross bred cows.
2) Native Indian cow’s milk is rich in protein and omega acid which are totally absent in cross bred cow’s milk.
3) Cross bred cow’s milk are the main cause of cholesterol in our country today. The case of Cholestrol was practically absent some 60 years before, when native cows where there in India.
4) The very shape of Native Indian cows with their hump, hoof, long tail, ability to shake any part of their skin seperately and their unique spinal cord structure are best suited for the Indian landscape. This is not the case with the cross bred or abroad varieties where in they require special cow sheds and cannot even stand the sound of rain falling during the monsoon.
5) Native cow’s digestion system and excretion system are uniquely evolved to produce more helpful bacterias. This dung from our native cows is used for zero budget farming as it enriches the soil with humus several times faster, more effective and with no side effects. The urine from cow can be preserved for very long time and it can be used as pest repellent. There is renewed research for using this cow urine by distilling it as ‘Arka’ to be used as antiseptic agent – several times more potent than their chemical conterparts.
6) Spiritual farming by Subhash Palekar, Organic farmer Nammalwar, Organic ‘Pitamaha’ Bhaskar Hiraji Save and Vandana Shiva all stress on saving Indigenous cow breeds for the very sustenance on farming in India. There is no machine in this world, which can turn the waste product from our house into useful biomass on a daily basis than the cows.
7) Allan Savory in his talk in Ted titled ‘Reversing Desertification’ clearly states his 60 year research that cattle population are the sole reason through which deserts could be reversed to rain forests. This is what our Vedas and Thirukkural also stresses.
8) The western countries are cheating Indians by a four pronged approach
stage 1) First they degrade the native breed through their propaganda – our local farmer and agricultural universities also parrot the same nonsense and bring in cross breds or abroad varieties.
stage 2) They source the native cattle of India, whose true worth they know, secretly to Brazil and other southern states like texas, mexico, etc., where they grow them properly.
stage 3) Since the native cows are no longer in India, India’s eco system is lost, disease comes, vegetation recedes, rain stops. Now, as a medicine, the west sells the same native Indian breed in the name of ‘Brahman cow variety’ back to India and amass wealth.
This is nothing different than what British did to us during the colonial time. They took cotton out, made shirts, degraded our native weavers and brought back the shirt and sold in multifold profit back to us.
This needs to change – there cannot be a change unless there is help from govt. and publicity campaigns – Sri Ramachandra Mutt, Hosanagar is doing a great service in saving and rejuvinating the 33 varieties of cows of India in their mutt. The Shankaracharya swamiji of the mutt is doing a great service in this regard. But this is not enough. Shankara Mutt and other mutts in Tamilnadu should do a similar stuff at all the places in Tamilnadu. They can do it only with our efforts.
What can we do:
1) Stop using leather products – watch strap, shoes, slippers, belts, bags, handbags, purse – all these should be got only from artificial leather – the cows are mainly slaughtered for meat and leather – Meat, or beef, we Hindus dare to even think of, so, the other product leather should also be taboo to us. We must switch to artificial leather that’s very much available. Stress on ‘no leather’ when you go for shopping next time.
2) Stress on having native cow milk – this is not as feasible now, but I have some project in mind in the lines of ‘Ahimsa milk’ of UK – to start a dairy industry in Ahimsa lines for native cows alone.
3) Spread the message of saving native cows to who ever you speak to. Lets create the vibe and Mahaswamy will see to it that this will become a great momentum.
4) Save Cows from slaughter as we did in this case and as much as possible, start gho shalaas.
5) Gho Shaalas is a big business, not only for their diary product, but the dung and urine can be made into several products, some of them are:
1) Pure Vibhuthi can be made and sold from the native cow breed dung cakes.
2) Dung cakes of native cows are in great demand for Yagyas and Homas around the world.
3) Dung and Urine can be mixed to make Pancha Ghavya and sold.
4) Cow urine can be mixed with neem and other ingridients to be made into pest repllents.
5) Cow Urine can be distilled to make ‘Arka’ which can be used as the best antisceptic.
6) Cow Dung can be mixed with charcoal and made into agarbattis.
7) Cow dung can be mixed with neem powder and charcoal and made into mosquito coils or cones.
8) Cow dung can be mixed with sambrani ( frankesence ) and made into computer sambraani.
9) Vegetable waste from Koyambedu and other food processing industries could be sourced in a very cheap amount and fed to cows.
10) Manure from the cow dung is on great demand for enriching soil in organic agriculture.
11) Cow dung ash mixed with Shika and Arakku powder is now being sold as ‘Patanjali Organic dish washing powder’ and is of great demand as chemical dish washing powders are damaging the skin and nails of house hold women.
I am gathering the know how and will be happy to share and calculated that the profit from these ( remember profit – after paying the bills and salary to semi-skilled or unskilled employees ) alone is Rs. 2,50,000 per month. Its not Gho Samrakshana, but actually Gho mata who protects us with what ever we need and in return she expects nothing more than love and affection from us – she is happy with even the vegetable garbage we throw to her to feed on.
If time permits, I will scan and send in the greatness of Gho Seva, as explained in a book let released by Gita Press Ghorakhpur. It shows how much our great kings of past and even during the independence movement, did to save our native cows.
I pray Mahaswamy to guide us and give us strength in this regard towards this project.
Seeking the grace of Mahaswamy,
Thanks and regards,
Vijay Parthasarathy
